Guided Independence

The Junior Board comes together to carefully plan, organize, promote and execute numerous of its own events throughout the entire school year. Additionally, members are required to volunteer at a minimum of two events produced by the Women’s Board. Working alongside the Woman’s Board members provides Junior Board members with an opportunity to observe and acquire leadership, planning and problem-solving skills

Events:

Winter Wanderland

Bring your kids along for this winter-themed fundraising event at the Community House! Enjoy a festive stroll through holiday themed vignettes ending with a visit with Santa Claus with cookies and hot cocoa. Our elves will be happy to assist with photos.

To learn more and purchase tickets, refer to the community house website.

Fun Run

Take your marks! Runners of all abilities are welcome and have the choice to participate in a Fun Run with an annually changing theme, or in our (more competitive) 5k chipped race. This is the Junior Board’ signature fundraising event, meaning that all members play a vital role in organizing, promoting, and executing the run.

Women’s Board Events:

Throughout the year, the Junior Board volunteers at major fundraising events produced by the Women’s Board. This year, board members will be volunteering at the one-of-a-kind Antiques and Modernism Show. Working closely with Women’s Board members, Junior Board members lend a helping hand in whatever way they can. This can include helping elderly patrons to their cars during the icy winter months, busing tables, checking in guests, taking pictures, selling raffle tickets, or setting up decorations.

In the fall, the Community House hosts its nationally-renowned Antiques and Modernism Show featuring one-of-a-kind antiques, paintings, furniture and jewelry. Junior board members work with the Women’s Board to check in guests, sell tickets, and answer any questions guests may have during the show. The extra help provided by Junior Board ensures that the A & M show, the biggest fundraising event for the Community House, runs seamlessly and efficiently.
